True Grit 1st Trailer

By admin Posted in Movie Trailers / No Comments »

The Coen Brothers True Grit Teaser debuted today and the cinematography looks awesome. Can’t really tell how the performances are going to be but based on a lot of the shots it looks vaguely similar to the original John Wayne film, for which he won his only acting Oscar. I’ve heard that they are going to be basing a lot of the movie on the book more than the original film. Here’s hoping for another great Western.

“Inception” Review

By admin Posted in Movie Reviews / No Comments »

That’s a really tough one! How do you review something if you left the movie theatre with feeling nothing but overwhelmed? And I mean this in a positive way. Don’t worry, you don’t need to fear reading any kinda spoilers in my review. I’ll mainly focus on the actors and what personal impact the movie had on me.
The whole story line was incredibly original and innovative. I don’t think I have ever watched such a creative and inspiring movie before. It’s impossible to rate “Inception” on a scale from 1-10 as it exceeds the highest number possible. I have to admit that the beginning was very confusing and you might get discouraged of ever understanding it. I can assure you, it will all make perfect sense at the end. No doubt, it is a very challenging movie mind wise but also enriches you on so many different levels. As a writer myself, it utterly stimulated my imagination and advanced my creative thinking to a completely new degree. I couldn’t think of any better words than “geniously brilliant” to do the film justice verbally.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s intense performance gave me goosebumps, and as usual he committed himself to his character and role 150%. My continuously growing amazement and admiration for his unbelievable acting abilities can be compared to an endless scale of magnificence. With “Inception” DiCaprio once again outdid his exceptional gift of portraying every character as it was part of himself.

The whole cast did an excellent job, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt really shone in this one. I have to admit that I wasn’t really following his acting career and mostly remembered him as the funny boy in the TV show “3rd Rock.” It seems like ages have passed, because he totally blew me away in “Inception”. His powerful and strong acting was tremendously captivating as well as persuading. I caught myself being overly drawn to him and his remarkably charisma, although having Leo as my all-time favorite actor.

Simply said, you most definitely don’t wanna miss out on “Inception” and its outstanding dreamworld of pure individuality!

Since Ben Affleck finished filming The Town, filming has really slowed down in Boston. It looks like the next big movie that will be filmed in the Boston area is “The Age of Adaline” starring Katherine Heigl in March. She will play a woman that doesn’t age. When she meets the man of her dreams she must give up her immortality. Another romantic comedy for Heigl?

We know that Boston is a great site for films, so hopefully it will pick up in the new year.
